Coming soon from the Sash Window Workshop
Did you know that The Sash Window Workshop makes and installs well over £1m per year of best quality, bespoke doors. Including front doors, french doors and sliding folding doors? It seems to be a bit of a secret we haven’t been telling people. Even some of our customers ask “do you do doors?”. We have definitely “missed a trick” somehwere and need to put things right, as our doors are made to the highest standards and we believe they are simply the best available.
In response to popular demand, as from January 2012 we will be launching new range of “Classic” doors. This range will include about 15 -20 different classic “London” front door designs, a range of simple but elegant french doors and some standard sliding folding designs. These "Classic" designs should suit most of our customers and will of course come measured, painted, glazed and fitted by our own fully employed fitting staff, all with The Sash Window Workshop’s outstanding customer service, long term warranties and after sales service.
Of course if there isn’t a pattern that suits you, we will always tailor something to your exact specification, like we have been doing for the past 18 years, without telling anyone!
The Sash Window Workshop – delivering excellence at every opportunity.
A very special offer – we want your old windows to keep us warm!

The Sash Window Workshop has been manufacturing the highest quality traditional timber windows since 1994 combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to produce a full range of A rated windows and doors. Our windows and doors are made to the highest standards with the best materials in all respects, and come fitted by our own employees. Our customers are delighted by the difference that our window services make to their homes.
As part of our environmental policy, we burn our “off cut” timber and the old windows and doors that we take out of our clients homes, to heat our factory and keep our loyal craftsmen warm during winter. We always need a constant supply of timber.
To help keep us all warm this winter, any joinery order placed with us before January 1st, 2012 can qualify for up to £200 part exchange allowance on each complete window replacement or £100 if part of our sliding sash replacement service

The Sash Window Workshop Goes International
The Sash Window Workshop has just sent its first windows overseas – to Sweden of all places, home of the high performance timber window.
Our client needed an elegant window solution for her home and ordered four Georgian patterns “A” rated traditionally hung box sash windows, made from Accoya. There are no box sash window suppliers in Sweden apparently.
Our client is delighted with her windows and we are very proud, hopefully we may teach the Swedes a thing or two about beautiful sash windows – could this be the start of something big?
Period Window Owners Really Ought to Know This
Most period homeowners don’t know that the average “U” value (measurement of thermal efficiency) of a single glazed draughty timber window is at best likely to be around 5.5.
If you fit one of The Sash Window Workshop’s Classic range of “A” rated traditional timber windows, you can achieve a "U" value of approximately 1.5 for the window (about the best on the market for thermal efficiency), which is a massive improvement. This not only saves energy, but radically improves comfort levels and moreover our windows are works of great “charm and beauty” made to the highest standards and designed to complement our clients homes. They also come with outstanding customer service and an industry leading warranty.

There are Traditional Windows and Then There Are “Sash Window Workshop” Windows
During tough economic times, price pressure naturally weighs heavily on customers’ minds when looking to invest in new windows.
It really important that when buying windows people really do look at what they are getting for their money, we all know that quality costs, but generally delivers a return in the long term.
At The Sash Window Workshop we think it is even more important than ever to drive home the message to our clients that they need to look at several key factors when making a purchasing decision on traditional windows. They are, quality of timber and window build, aesthetic appearance (some traditional windows are simply not in keeping), warranties, quality of after sale service, fitting standards and the performance of the windows (our Classic range of windows are all “A” rated) . It goes without saying that the financial stability of the company is also of paramount importance during these difficult times, just recently two of our competitors have ceased trading.
We would rather encourage our clients to buy little and often if budgets are tight and phase purchase over years than look for a substandard product elsewhere, that may not last or don’t look right. If anyone wants some free advice on traditional timber windows and what to look for, please contact us at info@sashwindow.com.

Off With The Short Trousers, On With The Woolies
Winter is coming and we’ve just issued all 15 Sash Window Workshop fitting staff their winter uniform to keep them warm.
It’s very important for us to look after them, last winter The Sash Window Workshop fitting team, fitted over £2.5m of windows through snow and ice and all the treacherous conditions nature threw at us, we only missed 3 confirmed installation dates for our customers, which we caught up very quickly. On some occasions we had to tow the vans to our client's homes!
We are hoping that this year won’t be so tough, but we are ready for it if it is.
The Finest Accoya Timber for Your Windows and Doors
The Sash Window Workshop uses high quality Accoya timber for our windows and doors. Accoya wood is the world leading solution to tropical hardwood. Now, you may think that means nothing to you but tropical hardwood has been used for centuries because of its impressive durability. Now you see, by using Accoya for windows and doors we are making the best economical choice for you, so whilst it’s raining on your ‘extra durable windows’ you are subconsciously saving for a rainy day!
What makes the timber even more special is that our windows and doors are made right here in our workshop in Bracknell, Berkshire by our highly skilled workers so it emulates home grown goodness. Yet another unwavering quality of Accoya for windows and doors is that it is also dimensionally stable so there is no danger of the once gloriously furnished exterior of your house changing into a lopsided, modern art wannabe. Accoya wood is tried and tested to ensure the shrinking and swelling is reduced by 75%.
Furthermore, Accoya is environmentally friendly. Yes that’s right, your house can look good and you will feel good for it. It is manufactured using a non-toxic treatment and fast growing timber from sustainable sources. So not only can you feel environmentally sound by purchasing Accoya windows and doors but you can feel this way for 50 years! Above ground the wood will most certainly last for this amount of time and below ground Accoya still lasts 25 years. The wood is protected by a rot and insect barrier and is indigestible to insects and microorganisms. Perfect! No bugs to munch away your latest windows and doors investment.
And if that is not enough qualities to get you excited about our Accoya wood, windows and doors, there is more! Accoya possesses fantastic thermal insulation qualities. The windows and doors from The Sash Window Workshop are beautiful to open in the summer and ideal to keep you warm and toasty in the winter months.
However, our personal favourite at The Sash Window Workshop is that the appearance of the windows and doors lasts longer than other types of wood. Accoya wood has a superior resistance to UV to avoid faded and aged appearances and it is coated in translucent substance for extra protection.
Overall, we have taken every measure to exhaust the Jones’s so that they will be still trying to keep up with you for 50 years!
